Mutual Aid

Peer-run aid networks, community food distributions, clothing drives, and grassroots support in Denver — no paperwork, no intake forms.

ADVOCACY & DIRECT AID

✊ Denver Homeless Out Loud (DHOL)

Denver Homeless Out Loud is a grassroots organization led by people experiencing homelessness. They provide direct aid (supplies, food, gear), community organizing, Know Your Rights trainings, and advocacy for unhoused people's civil rights.

DHOL is one of the strongest voices fighting encampment sweeps, criminalization of homelessness, and policy changes that affect unhoused communities in Denver.

FREE MEALS — NO ID, NO PAPERWORK

🍲 Food Not Bombs Denver

Food Not Bombs is a volunteer-run mutual aid group that shares free vegan/vegetarian hot meals — no ID, no intake forms, no questions asked. Just show up and eat.

Check their social media or ask around for current Denver distribution times and locations, as they can change seasonally.

💡 What makes mutual aid different: There's no case manager, no eligibility check, no paperwork. Mutual aid is people helping people directly — it exists to fill gaps that formal systems miss.
COMMUNITY DISTRIBUTIONS

📦 Clothing & Supply Distros

Multiple community groups in Denver run regular distributions of clothing, hygiene kits, tents, sleeping bags, socks, and other survival supplies — especially during winter months.

WARMING STATIONS

❄️ Winter & Extreme Weather

During extreme cold events, Denver activates warming centers and additional overflow shelter. These are announced through 211 Colorado and city communications.

Call 211 during cold weather to find out which warming centers are active tonight.

Mutual aid groups also organize winter gear drives and supply distributions when temperatures drop. Follow DHOL for real-time updates.
