Methodology
How we gather, evaluate, and maintain resource information.
Source Priority
We follow a clear hierarchy when sourcing information:
- Official government sources — City of Denver, State of Colorado, federal agencies. Highest weight.
- Official provider pages — The organization's own website or published materials.
- Established nonprofit directories — 211 Colorado, United Way, Denver Human Services directories.
- Community notes — Reported by outreach workers, volunteers, or people with lived experience. Clearly labeled.
- Observed — Information observed directly in the field.
Every resource record includes a sourceType field indicating which tier it came from.
Verification Levels
| Level | Meaning | Badge |
|---|---|---|
| Verified | Confirmed directly with provider or official page | Verified |
| Partially Verified | Cross-checked against multiple sources; some details uncertain | Partially Verified |
| Community Note | Reported by community members; not independently confirmed | Community Note |
| Needs Review | Sourced from directory or public data; direct verification pending | Needs Review |
How We Gather Information
- Manual review of official government and provider websites
- Cross-referencing public nonprofit directories
- Review of publicly available outreach reports and city planning documents
- Community notes from people with lived experience (clearly labeled)
- Phone and email verification where possible
Update Process
Each resource record includes a lastVerified date and a nextReviewDate. We review resources on a rolling schedule. Changes are logged in the Update Log.
Anyone can submit a correction. Corrections are reviewed promptly and logged.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not invent provider details or phone numbers.
- We do not present community notes as verified facts without a label.
- We do not publish information we cannot trace to a credible source.
- We do not present this site as an official government or provider directory.
Limitations
We are a small independent project. We cannot guarantee real-time accuracy. Resource details — hours, capacity, eligibility — change frequently. Always verify critical details directly with providers before making decisions.
