Why Trust This Site?
Honest answers about who built this, how we verify information, and where our limits are.
Who Built This?
William Lodge built and maintains Homeless Denver as an independent public-interest technology project. William is an independent researcher and technologist based in Colorado. This project is not affiliated with any government agency, nonprofit, or business.
Public-Interest Technology Approach
This project combines:
- Official source priority: Government pages and provider websites are checked first.
- Lived-experience perspective: Outreach notes and community input are included but clearly labeled as such.
- Structured data: Every resource record includes a verification status, source type, and review date.
- Plain language: Information is written for people under stress, not for policy specialists.
- Public-interest web tools: No paywalls, no advertising, no selling user data.
How We Verify Information
Every resource is labeled with a confidence level:
- Verified — Directly confirmed with provider or official source.
- Partially Verified — Cross-checked; some details may be incomplete.
- Community Note — Reported by community; not independently confirmed.
- Needs Review — Sourced from public directories; pending direct verification.
See the full Methodology for details on how we gather and review data.
Update Policy
Resource listings are reviewed on a rolling basis. Each record has a "Next Review Date." The Update Log shows when changes were made and what was updated.
Anyone can submit a correction. We review and update promptly.
Our Limitations
- We do not have staff in the field verifying conditions daily.
- Resource availability changes faster than we can always update.
- We do not have relationships with every provider listed.
- We are one maintainer — not a newsroom or agency.
Always verify critical details directly with providers before relying on them.
Correction Process
If you see incorrect or outdated information, please submit a correction. We take corrections seriously and update listings promptly. We also note corrections in the Update Log.
